| His grandfather was a Russian-> US ambassador before the alien war,
his father had a short and unremarkable life as a mechanic
before succumbing to tuberculosis when Dominic was 7. Growing up in the
NRR poverty left him with no energy for sports, and the stranglehold curfews
of the area destroyed most social contact. An intellectual child,
Dominic's life revolved around chess and feeding on the stories of the
pre-alien-war US which his (sadly senile) grandfather
told him. Dominic hid his lack of patriotism for the NRR when selected
for a psionics training programm using a quarter-century old psi-amp. At
the age of 20, family long dead, Dominic could stand the oppressive NRR
no longer. Through well-trusted contacts he managed to board a refugee
ship heading for the west coast of the USA. Endangering the other refugees
and himself, he stole his psi-amp for the journey. Through pure luck they
succeeded, and Dominic arrived on the continent of his dreams.. to
find the USSA.
Dominic deplores the almost Nazi-comparable morality of the USSA, but
knows he must hide his disgust if he is to escape the witch-hunts. A wreck
of shattered hopes, Dominic now has a disturbing lust for the one thing
he excels
at: Mind control, of aliens or any other creature. Hypocritically,
Dominic detests the leaders for not seeking peace with the aliens, but
has no qualms about controlling the aliens and taking them to their doom.
His constant
acting of loyalty and love for the USSA has given him the record that
finally allowed him into the C4 at this young age. |
