A brief history of the United Secure States of America,
the people and ideas behind it, and the Cold Force's role in Pure Earth.
The Great Alien War
The war started in 1999.
An organization known as X-Com, the Extraterrestrial
Combat Unit, fought against several species of alien
invaders. After three
years of continuous warfare, X-Com struck
back, attacking the aliens at their
home base - Mars. When X-Com failed the aliens
retaliated. Thousands of ships
descended on Earth, obliterating nearly three billion
lives. True to its
nature, humanity fought on. Resistance groups including
the famed North
Atlantic Alien Resistance Organization (NAARO),
and the lesser-known ColdForce, fought on in the desolate regions
of the world. In 2003, the NAARO,
finding an abandoned X-Com base, launched
a second assault on the alien
control center on Mars. Their destruction of the
alien 'brain' loosened the
Ethereal aliens' control on some of their 'subordinates',
and apparently
severed contact with their bretheren outside the
Sol system. Some of the
aliens fought amongst themselves, leaving the humans
alone. Some tried to
live peacefully with the humans. Regardless, humanity
once again had a
chance at survival. Most historians agree that the
Great
War was over with
the capture of the alien strongholds located in
Paris, Anchorage, Moscow and
Beijing. The fate of the southern hemisphere remains
unknown to this day. The
most commonly held opinion is that the alien forces
are in control there.
The New Factions
Sometime in the 2010's, the
old resistance groups began banding together. People crawled out of their
hiding places in the sewers, caves, woods, and the graveyards that the
cities had become. On different continents, people took different paths.
In Europe, the people congregated, and started building huge hive-cities.
One city in particular, Citadel, would eventually become the leader
of the European City-State Alliance. Like the feudal city-states
of old, these huge cities provided, or, at least appeared to, protection
and comfort to those living inside.
The Neo-Russian Regime
re-formed on the basis of the old USSR. Maintaining tense relations
with its european neighbors, the NRR kept harsh control over its
territories.
The United Secure States
of America, instigated by Captain, later President
Samuel Wychin, leader of the Cold Force resistance group maintained
near-complete control over North America. Maintaining a strict anti-alien
policy, the USSA's forces were constantly on the hunt for aliens
to destroy. Only recently has intercontinental contact been restored via
newly-launched sattelites - no information has been issued concerning the
USSA's
contact with the European and Russian nations.
The aliens, of course,
remain a threat to be dealt with. Currently, the most prolific race is
the Snakemen, who, until recently, controlled a good portion of the American
Southeast. As of now, the alien filth is being cleansed from American soil
by the elite USSA troops. Although rumors persist to the contrary,
there has yet to be any official, high government level contact with the
aliens. As a popular saying goes - "The only language an alien can speak
is the kind where it screams as you shoot the bastard." Due to dwindling
Elerium-115 stockpiles, the aliens in North America have become considerably
weaker since the USSA does not rely on elerium-based technology
to power its war machine and economy.
Pure Earth
An ideology instigated by President
Wychin himself, this called for the systematic eradication of all aliens
and those humans who collaborated with them from the face of the Earth.
Wychin's regime places the responsibility for all of humanity's plight
upon the aliens - and devotes a considerable amount of resources towards
the maintenance of anti-alien activities.
The United Secure States of America
The only resemblance this nation
bears to the old U.S.A. is the similarity in name, the territory
that it covers, and the fact that most of its inhabitants are descendants
of USA citizens. President Wychin, having been consistently reelected as
president for seven consecutive 4-year terms, continues to lead his country
on the way to peace, prosperity, and the eradication of all non-human sentient
life.
As per the results of the
2030 census, the USSA has a population of approximately 200 million
humans. Aliens and humans with physical mutations are not counted as citizens
and are killed on sight - the earth must be kept pure if humanity is to
survive!
The USSA devotes
a considerable amount of resources to its military activities,
including research, manufacture and direct violence.
As a result, the country's economy is currently at the highest level it's
been since the late 1990's - no man or woman is left without a task. The
military controls a large, mechanized ground force as well as a relatively
large reactive jet airforce. The USSA also posesses a large portion
of the old USA's nuclear arsenal - further information is under
red level classification. The military is under President Wychin's direct
control at all times, since the USSA is in a permanent state of
war until such time as the Earth is purified of all aliens and their human
followers.
As per presidential order
4.09.07.2029, all instancess of deviance (religious and otherwise) are
processed by the Internal Security Bureau - the USSA's fast and
efficient administrative organization which controls all non-military aspects
of the USSA's affairs.
The Cold Force
Originally, this was the name
of Captain Wychin's resistance group. Now, as of 2032, the Cold Force (C4
being a commonly-used acronym) is an elite commando team, whose
goal is to defend the USSA from threats both
external and internal. Specifically, the Cold Force is called upon
to surgically remove specific enemy targets. Only the best and most loyal
men and women from the USSA armed forces are accepted into C4.
